A terrific movie made using parts of David Foster Wallace’s 2005 commencement address to the graduating class of Kenyon College.
David Foster Wallace is my most favourite writer. Much of what he shares in this address melds seamlessly with the yoga path that I’ve been trudging along for the past 18 years.
I watched this video and re-listened to the audio and found myself mourning again as I have each time I’ve re-read any of his books or Harper’s articles since his death in 2008.
From the filmmakers, “We made this video, built around an abridged version of the original audio recording, with the hopes that the core message of the speech could reach a wider audience who might not have otherwise been interested.”
